Did you know that the art museum is a popular attraction in Aomori Prefecture?
Until I actually visited, my impression of Aomori was strongly one of apple trees and the Nebuta Festival, but there is a lot more to it than just these things.
Here is an introduction to a spot that can be enjoyed in the winter and in bad weather.
Just one bus from Aomori Station! Within 30 minutes, you will arrive at the Aomori Museum of Art.
Here, you can see the works of the popular modern artist Yoshitomo Nara, a native of Aomori, and also see the Sannai-Murayama Historical Ruins nearby.
Since I haven’t had much opportunity to come into contact with modern art, I decided to visit, and to see the “Aomori Dog”.
The snow is fantastic!
I was taken aback by the pure white building.
The entire museum building, inside and out, is a pure, unified white.
Although there is a quiet, hushed atmosphere, I could not help but murmur several times from the beauty of it.
The exhibition hall is very large, with many exhibits making use of the ample space.
In general, photography is strictly prohibited within the museum building, so it is best to ask, depending on where you are.
All the characters and fonts used in the museum are original.
The interior is also pure white and extremely photogenic.
