Kakunodate's Bukke Yashiki Dori, practically just the way it was during the Edo period.
This cityscape is a historic masterpiece with it's weeping cherry blossoms is spring, the deep fresh green in summer, brilliant colors in autumn and snow in the winter.
[14:30] Buying Kakunodate's famous rare morokoshi as a souvenir.
Rare morokoshi is Kakunodate's specialty.
Rare morokoshi, a confection from Akita area, is made from red bean flour and melts in in your mouth.
I stopped by a souvenir shop right in front of Aoyagi Estate.
I bought the tasty morokoshi cookie called Sakura Horohoro as a souvenir.

[16:00] At Sakaiya for Jumbo Strawberry Parfaits
At Sakaiya on our way to Kakunodate Station after returning the kimono.
It looks like an ordinary green grocer, but inside there's a café space.
The parfaits are so good they attract crowds.
What appears to be an ordinary greengrocer...!?
The inside is a small café space!
Perfect for Instagram!
Make way for a luxurious strawberry parfait loaded with strawberries!
