What is dinosaur straw art?
Wakabayashi Ward, one of the coastal areas in Miyagi Prefecture, was severely damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
However, through the continued efforts of many people, the area now produces delicious rice and vegetables again.
In this event, “rice straw”, symbolic of reconstruction after the earthquake, was taken from the district’s disaster-stricken farmland, and used to craft dinosaurs.
Adults and children alike can enjoy this event.
